 FruitTek's mini-cucumber sorting system facilitates optimization and precision of the sizing and packing process. Cucumbers are placed onto a conveyor that feeds them past the weighing scale and then through the camera housing where they are sorted by length, thickness and shape. The conveyor continues on, distributing the sized and graded cucumbers to each of the exits as determined by the vision sorting program.
Leading-edge Ellips vision sorting technology is used to size and grade the cucumbers. It is the vision technology of choice in the fruit and vegetable sorting industry due to it's high-resolution imaging and sophisticated programming flexibility. Various programs can be developed and stored in the system to accommodate different packing scenarios such as various size trays (sorting by length & thickness) and bulk bags (sorting by weight and number of cucumbers per bag).
The maximum capacity of the mini-cucumber sorting line is 24,000 pieces per hour. Actual capacity is determined by the type of system used to load the cucumbers onto the in-feed conveyor.
