Berry Processing Lines for Pre and Post IQF and Straight Pack

Fruittek and our manufacturing partners have several decades of berry processing experience. We have been directly involved in designing and implementing full-scale pre and post IQF berry handling and packing solutions for several of the largest berry processors in North and South America. We and our partners have advised on projects with berry production volume requirements of up to 50,000 lbs per hour and are a recognized industry leader in high volume berry processing.

Our expertise includes the following:

Complete pre and post IQF and straight pack fruit cleaning, inspection and boxing lines for operations that handle one or more varieties of berries, including blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, cranberries, blackberries, marion berries and currants.

  • Pre IQF air cleaning and/or washing systems (for all berries)
  • Pre IQF stick and debris scalping systems (for cranberries and blueberries)
  • Pre IQF destemming systems (for blueberries)
  • Pre IQF rock trap systems (for cranberries and blueberries)
  • Pre IQF sanitation systems (for all berries)
  • Pre IQF inspection and electronic sorting systems, for soft fruit, color and shape (for all berries, except raspberries)
  • Pre IQF rare earth magnets for ferrous metal removal (all berries)
  • Pre IQF nitrogen immersion systems (for raspberries)
  • Post IQF berry sizing systems (for all berries)
  • Post IQF inspection and electronic berry sorting for defects, foreign material and color (for all berries)
  • Post IQF destemming systems (for blueberries)

  • Post IQF vertical form-fill-seal weighing and filling systems (for all berries)
  • Post IQF automated box filling and weighing systems (for all berries)
  • Post IQF metal detection and x-ray systems and rare earth magnets (for all berries)
  • Post IQF lot coding, bar coding and tracking systems (for all berries)

We combine our advanced design and layout tools (including 3D Solid Works) with our unparalleled understanding of how to efficiently and cost-effectively process harvested berries to develop solutions that work within your space and budgetary requirements. The video on this page is one example of a post IQF system for blueberries that we installed that will eventually be ramped up to pack off 20,000 lbs of IQF blueberries per hour. Currently it is set up to handle up to 12,000 lbs of blueberry production and in the case of the video, is being used to repack blueberries at less than 10,000 lbs of production per hour. Planning and designing installations, that can be ramped up over time to accommodate your production as it grows (while limiting your initial capital investment) is another strength that we bring to the table.

If you are expanding your berry processing operation, or are just starting out, we would be glad to share our experience with you to help you make informed decisions about your berry processing expansion or start up. Please feel free to contact us today for a free consultation.
